Waynetown - Last rites for Mrs. Carrie Lenora Darnell, 71 who expired at her home here at 10 o'clock Saturday night (May 30th), were conducted Tuesday. Short services were read at the family home at noon, following which the body lay in state at the Baptist Church from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Rev. IC Overman had charge of additional rites at the church at 1:30. Burial was made in the local Masonic cemetery.

Mrs. Darnell had been in failing health for sevearl years and had been seriously ill for the past week. Her death was attributed to a complication of diseases. She had just returned two weeks ago from a winter's visit with her daughter, Mrs. Bernard Clasen (sic) at Pittsburgh, PA.

The deceased was born in the Wesley community near Waynetown, July 11, 1865 the daughter of James and Mary Gray Vaughan. She was married to HC Darnell Sept 9, 1890. He died March 4, 1935.

Mrs. Darnell was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Sta.r

Two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Burris, Waynetown and Mrs. Elmer Henthorne, Ridgefarm Ill; two brothers, Wlater F. Vaughn, Danville, Ill and Santford Vaughn, Waynetown and three grandchildren in addition to Mrs. Clasen, survive - kbz
